This a documentary project that follows the footsteps of Syrian women and children who were forced to flee their homes at the outbreak of the war. It chronicles their journey from shattered villages in Syria to makeshift shelters and refugee communities in northern Lebanon.

Many of the women in the project have lost husbands in the conflict — killed in combat or disappeared, leaving behind children, uncertainty, and grief. Others live with the constant agony of not knowing whether their loved ones are alive or dead. With no viable alternatives for safety and survival, these women made the difficult decision to embark on a dangerous journey, driven by the hope of preserving their children’s lives.

More than 13 million Syrians have been uprooted from their homes, creating one of the largest refugee crises of the century. In this landscape of destruction, women and children have borne the most enduring consequences — carrying the weight of survival in a society left in fragments.
